Regulatory Environment for a strong European Financial Sector

The Economic Council of Germany calls for setting the regulatory environment for a strong, efficient and capable European financial sector. “The financial market crisis has required new regulation. Speed, scale and complexity are no guarantee for good governance and long term positive results. We have to consider both the capability of the financial sector and the regulation. This tension worries the economy,” comments Werner M. Bahlsen, president of the Economic Council as the Economic Council is hosting today its financial market conference in Berlin.
